CRIME SCENE: HARPER GROVE APARTMENTS & WINDSOR RESORT, DAVENPORT
POLK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE CASES 26-11129 & 11655
The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating kids kicking in doors during the month of March 2026 in different areas of Davenport. The first incident occurred on March 14th around 10:00 p.m. in the 3400 block of Lilac Way. While the residents were inside their home they heard a loud bang at the front door, and discovered it was cracked and damaged.
Four days later, on March 18th, around 6:00 p.m., witnesses saw and recorded a group of six teenaged boys running through Harper Grove Apartments after kicking in and cracking a door. They fled the scene by jumping a fence, and running across the road to McDonald's on Hwy 27. Both of these locations are off of US Hwy 27 near Sand Mine Road.

The group of juveniles caused hundreds of dollars' worth of damage at these locations.
