Welcome to the Polk County Sheriff's Office News Room, where the Public Information Officers (PIO's) post all of the information that they release to the news media. PIO's act as liaisons between news media organizations and the Sheriff's Office. The PIO's routinely release timely and accurate information and Crime Stoppers bulletins, and respond to routine and "breaking news" media inquiries. A team of assessors from the Commission on Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), Public Safety Communications Accreditation (PSCA) program is scheduled for an on-site assessment of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in November to examine all aspects of Telecommunications policy and procedures, management, operations and support services, Sheriff Grady Judd announced today.

The public may call (863) 978-9833 on Monday, November 9, 2020, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., to speak to the assessment team.
Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with PSCA standards.
